New! Your Kitchener Photographer’s Fall 2022 Availability

A child sits on a giant pumpkin in front of a blue sky and a sunflower field. She's wearing rainbow leggings and a t-shirt that says "All For Love".

Hi Everyone! Turns out my fall is filling up fast, so I thought I’d share a calendar with my current bookings and available dates. You’ll see just a couple of weekend days available for the next three months, so if you’re thinking about fall family photos, now’s the time to get in touch! I do have some weeknights and after school times open in addition to the green AVAILABLE listings. This year I will NOT be taking any December bookings to ensure I have all my other assignments completed well before Christmas. So please plan accordingly! 😉 Check back soon for info and test images for this year’s seasonal mini sessions.

For inquiries, or to book a session, send an e-mail to emily@emilybeatty.com or call 519 568 9819.

Fall Photos at the Family Farm

I love this family. We met years ago through my husband and other mutual friends, and I’ve been lucky enough to photograph their growing numbers in a variety of different sessions over the past few years.

The day we selected for our photo shoot happened to be in the midst of a late summer heat wave and the kids were happy to run around the farm in Scotland Ontario that they call home while soaking up the last rays of September sunshine.

Then that sunset happened! Love it when I get to end a shoot with a sunset and smiles.

Hope you enjoy looking at the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Fall Family Photos at Rockway Gardens

I’ve been meaning to share this vibrant little fall family photo session from last October at Rockway Gardens in Kitchener. In my experience, husband + wife + baby always = a great photo shoot, and these three were no exception. These new parents were lovely to talk to, easy-going and great with their baby, all of which made for a wonderful laid back, low key session with lovely golden evening light. When the family placed their portrait order, I was pumped that they specifically asked for bright, bold colours during the editing process- my specialty. Fall portraits are all about those sunny warm tones and vibrant foliage. (A super smiley and cute baby like D. helps too.)

Thanks to this family for choosing me to document your baby boy’s first Halloween season. It was a truly a pleasure.

An Autumn Photography Adventure in Cambridge

Once in awhile, when the light is good, I like to bring my camera along to a friend’s place and practice my skills without the pressure of shooting for a paying client. A couple of weeks ago in early October, I saw the opportunity for a pleasant, lifestyle family photography session with some good friends of ours. My fiance and I joined our friends David and Megan and their adorable daughter Pepper for a wee hike near their home in Cambridge, Ontario. Cambridge is a particularly pretty community, and the walking trails hidden amongst the residential neighbourhoods are lovely at this time of year. Our friends led us to some of their favourite spots, and I was glad I brought the camera along when I saw how beautiful the light and the foliage were. Here’s a glimpse of our journey.

I take and edit photos for other people all day long, and I’m starting to realize how important it is to nurture my love for photography in a personal way as well as a professional way. Without documenting my own adventures and undertaking creative projects just for the fun of it, my abilities as a photographer begin to grow stale. Excursions like this one rekindle my passion for photography. Its a great feeling.

Thanks David, Megan, Pepper and Todd for a delightful walk in the park!
